Meanwhile Pan Pan from Yacht Topaz that a speedboat towing a banana was sinking between Corrikeens and Dromineer Harbour and 7 persons were clinging/on to the banana. Lifeboat retasked back to Dromineer. Another speedboat, assisted by vessels Maan of Derg and Topaz took 4 persons from water to Dromineer Harbour. Lifeboat took 3 remaining persons to Dromineer Harbour, all 7 persons well. 7 persons on board. |

LOM spotted Emerald Star at Urra Point on a rocky shore at dusk. Speedboat had approached and hailed the cruiser. Member of public on board speedboat called LOM to say they were well aground. Launched and quickly alongside casualty. Cruiser well aground - Crew member Alan Finch walked around casualty to find a clear channel. Towed casualty off rocks and into clear water. Casualty checked and escorted to Dromineer Harbour. 2 persons on board. |

Aided search by KBSAR and Coastguard Helicopter. Nothing found. A body was recovered from water by divers from Limerick Rescue. |

Responded to call from Lough Derg Coastguard, they had picked up a Mayday on both Lough Derg and Lough Ree repeaters but not on any coastal stations. Requested us to launch and search for any vessel from Dromineer north to Portumna. Launched and headed to Portumna, reached Portumna having sighted no vessels. Searched Portumna area without any sighting, the Coastguard advised to return back to station. No vessel sighted by any unit. |

They had no indication that the man was in the water but requested that we carry out a search. Carried out several searches of the whole Terryglass - Portumna area without any sighting. Agreement was reached that search be called off. (Missing man subsequently found 60 miles away in Clonmel) |
