Money Matters

When someone becomes a Carer, their circumstances can change and they can find it difficult to cope financially. Often the person in need of care was the main wage earner in the family, or the Carer is elderly and relies on a pension or other state benefit. These and many other factors can put a strain on finances and make it difficult to pay even basic utility bills and living costs.

The Health Service Executive (HSE), Department of Social and Family Affairs and Community Welfare Office provide a number of financial supports for carers.
