HSE Services

Often for people in a caring situation, it can be difficult to know where to go for the advice, support and services you need.

Each caring situation is unique. If you are in a caring situation, you will probably need the services of a number of different professionals, and the services you need may change over time.

The Health Service Executive has responsibility for a number of services which benefit Carers and those for whom they care. The HSE also work closely with other voluntary organisations to provide services for people in Caring situations.

In some areas Primary Care Teams have been developed by the HSE to ensure that a comprehensive Health Care service and clear information is readily available to people in need.

Health care professionals including Family Doctors, Nursing Services, Physiotherapists, Occupational Therapists, Home Care Providers and other Health Service Executive services are working together to ensure that anyone in need can be referred to a number of professionals within the team.

Further Primary Care teams are being developed as part of the Health Service Executive's Health Strategy.
