About Us
Caring can be as rewarding as it is challenging. Carers can be found in all age groups and in all social situations. The reality is that any one of us can become a Carer at a moments notice. An accident or sudden illness can see us looking after a loved one, unprepared for all the challenges and issues that this involves.
Caring for Carers Ireland recognises that there are many thousands throughout the country who start every day wondering what new challenges they will face in their role as a Family Carer. We aim to benefit this selfless community by promoting the health, well-being and quality of life of all Family Carers and those for whom they care.
We achieve this by working in the areas of recognition, provision of information on benefits and entitlements, respite, training, research and advocacy to promote social inclusion.
By highlighting the important role that Carers play, we seek to recognise the invaluable contribution that this largely invisible voluntary group make to Irish society.
