At 2.30pm on Friday December 15th volunteers from the Nenagh RNLI Fundraising Committee, Lough Derg lifeboat station and friends of the RNLI will be singing Christmas Carols on Mitchell Street, Nenagh in aid of the Lifeboats.   As the Lifeboats depend entirely on voluntary contributions and legacies for its income, we invite you to support your local lifeboat.  Every contribution, no matter how small, helps the essential work of the RNLI saving lives at sea and on inland waterways.  Also on Friday December 15th Gaffney’s Wine Bar in Silver Street will be hosting a wine tasting from 5pm in aid of the Lifeboats.  All welcome.

The RNLI is a registered charity whose remit is to saves lives at sea.  It provides, on call, the volunteer 24-hour service necessary to cover search and rescue requirements to 100 miles out from the coasts of the United Kingdom and Ireland.  There are 43 lifeboat stations around the island of Ireland and 2 inland.  Lough Derg Lifeboat Station is one of these inland stations and has been tasked 29 times rescuing over 70 people, so far this year.
