Well Done to Melissa Coleman on winning the Connaght Young Player of the Year Award for 2007, she received her award at the All-Stars Banquet in Citywest Dublin from An Taoiseach Bertie Ahern last Saturday the 17th November.

Swinford Seniors Ladies won the Intermediate County Final beating Kilcomin, this means Senior football next year, they also did well in the league coming second only to Carnacon.

The Under 12s won the Community Games County final and the Under 12 Championship County final this year.

The Under 16s won a thrilling final in Castlebar beating the home team to become County Champs.

County Minor Final 2006
Congratulations to the minor girls on their magnicient win in the County Final. They beat Hollymount in a very exciting game. They worked very hard this year and fully deserved the vitory. This is the first time a Ladies County minor title has been brought to Swinford but lets hope its the first of many.
County Intermediate Final 2006
Hard luck to the ladies team who contested their first Intermediate Final. Crossmolina provided the opposition. The match was played Friday 8th Sept in Ballina. Thanks to all who turned out to suppport the Ladies.
U-14 County Final
Congrats to the Swinford Ladies U14 team who won the County U14 A Final on Wednesday 5th July in Knockmore. They defeated St. Bridgets in a heartstopping match. Final score Swinford 1.7 St. Bridgets 0.8.
There was a rupturous welcome for the girls on there arrival back into Swinford with flags flying, bonfires lit and about 30 cars following them. Well one girls on bringing silverware to the town.
U-12 Team News
The Ladies U12 team also qualified for the County A U12 Final. Opposition were St.Mary's and the final was played in Charlestown on the 31st July. They were narrowly beaten in the final by one goal.
This adds to their success in the Community Games in which they bet reigning champions for the last two years, Claremorris, in the final on Wednesday 28th June. Swinford went on to represent Mayo in the Connaught Qualifiers last Saturday 23rd Jult in Knockcroghery. They convincingly bet the Galway champions Claregalway in the semi-final and lost against the powerful Leitrim team Dromkeerin the final.
New Gear
Swinford Ladies have now become one of the best dressed teams after their eagerly awaited consignment of new gear arrived.
The ladies were also delighted with the arrival of a new set of jerseys which were very kindly sponsored by the team bus driver Tony Lynskey.
Senior Team News
The Senior Ladies team will contest their first Intermediate final this coming Friday in Ballina against previous Intermediate champions Crossmolina. Updated league tables can now be found in the Fixtures/Results section
Junior Team News
The Swinford Junior team had an impressive victory against Ballycroy on their home turf on Sunday 2nd July. Final score Swinford 3.14 Ballycroy 3.01. On Saturday 30th July they were away to Knockmore and were unlucky to not come away with a victory.Updated league tables can now be found in the Fixtures/Results section
SOLO RUN
Congratulations and well done to all those who participated in the Solo Run on Sat 15th April from Galway to Mayo. It was a great day which saw 30 of the Swinford Ladies Footballers solo their way from Galway to Swinford in a fundraising venture.
Swinford Ladies would like to thank those who helped make the day run so well. €3,200 was raised in total.
