A Disturbance of Poets
An innovative and unique
C.D. project, this is a CD compiling the best of 13 Mayo
Poets reading their own works. It was recorded in Turlough House
Museum by All Points West Media on a wet and windy May day. The total
cost of recording and production of the CD is sponsered by O'Connors
Super Value.
The poetry covers all manner of
subjects from Paul Durcans trip from Achill to Dublin, Romance
Irish Style (yes it exists) to information shared in waiting rooms
that is not always welcome.
Travel with Terry McDonagh in his hair
raising Hauantings in Mayo, ponder your own origins and place in
the world as Rosalind Davies acertains hers. Consider
with Ger Reidy and Paul McGuire our society, and think of the children
in other societys as you listen to Iarla Mongey
and Sharon Irwin. Thrill at the beauty of our own tongue
with Catríona Hastings, and what would you put in the coffin different
to what Michelline Egans character did. Smile at the
memoires evoked by Lizann Gorman on the agonising wait for
a first kiss. Are you searching for freedom like Perter Jordan or
are you lucky enough to have found that gift.
All of life is here in 32 poems by 13 talented artists and we thank them all for what they share with us.
So cry, laugh, think but most of all ENJOY.
All of the proceeds from this CD
will be go toHospice Africa / Uganda where Brid Quinn one of the poets
worked for two years. Because the total cost of the project has
been met by O'Connors all the proceeds will be sent to Uganda. We
will keep you posted on how much we raise. If you would like any
further
information please do not hesitate to contact me at any time, I would be delighted to discuss the project with you.
